OPPOSITION MP Colm Imbert declared yesterday that the People’s National Movement (PNM) will deliver “licks” to the United National Congress (UNC) at the next local government election.
Contributing to the debate on the Municipal Corporations (Amendment) Bill, 2026 in the House of Representatives, Imbert also rejected Rural and Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen’s claim that PNM local government representatives failed to engage in consultations on the reforms.
He said when PNM mayors and chairmen were contacted, they asked for details of the proposed changes but were not provided with them.
