OPPOSITION MP Colm Imbert has criticised proposed changes under the Municipal Corporations (Amendment) Bill, 2026, as an attempt by the United National Congress (UNC) Government to strengthen its position before the next local government election.
Imbert yesterday called the bill “unethical” and accused the UNC of “classic gerrymandering”.
The Diego Martin North/East MP was speaking at a news conference at the Office of the Opposition Leader, Port of Spain.
