The trip of a group of Trinidadian visitors to Tobago for the annual Rainbow Cup Triathlon at Turtle Beach turned sour when their villa was robbed of $13,000 in cash and jewelry.
A man identified only as Ken, who spoke on behalf of the group, told the Express yesterday they had been staying at a villa located on Tom Phillip Road, Courland, Tobago and they discovered the robbery on Saturday morning after returning from the Rainbow Cup.
“When (one of the group) went into the room where we were sleeping in he noticed...a red cap (which) was on a night stand on the tv...was not there anymore. It was at a different location and we notice some other things out of place,” he said.
