A 21-year-old Canadian tourist was assaulted and robbed while holidaying at Irasmus Cove, Parlatuvier, on Friday.
Police reported that the victim, a student from Toronto, was at Back Bay Beach, Rabbit Lane, Plymouth, with his wife around 1 pm when he placed a black waste bag on the sand. The bag contained a vehicle key for a car (PDX 2852), a knife valued at $40 CAD, lip balm, a black Google Pixel phone valued at $500 CAD, a wallet with credit cards, Canadian driver’s license, and $400 TT currency.
Two men approached the bag, one about 6 ft tall, wearing shorts, a jersey, and a white face mask, and the other about 5 ft 10 in. They grabbed the bag and fled.
