A Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Corporal has reported the loss of his licensed firearm, ammunition, and several documents after accidentally leaving a pouch on the hood of a car outside the Ulric Cross Air Guard Base in Piarco on Thursday evening.
According to police, around 7p.m. secured his vehicle, a TTDF-issued unit, before meeting his brother, who was waiting in vehicle parked along the roadway outside the compound.
The officer reportedly placed a grey pouch containing his licensed Glock 45 9mm pistol, two loaded magazines (17 rounds each), Firearm User’s License booklet, and multiple forms of identification, including his Defence Force and national IDs, on the hood of the vehicle. The pouch also contained approximately $9,000 in cash, two gold rings, three gold bracelets, and several bank and membership cards.
