A security inspector reported the theft of his service pistol after giving a man a ride in Bon Air Gardens yesterday afternoon.
According to police, the inspector was driving along Abalone Circular near Triton Avenue around 4:30 p.m. when he offered a lift to a man he knew due to rainy weather. The passenger was dropped off along College Trace near the University of the West Indies.
Upon returning home, the inspector discovered that his black one-strap bag had been opened and his Sig Sauer P250 pistol, along with one magazine containing 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition valued at $7,500, was missing.
