Police have detained one man in connection with an attack on a prison officer and his mother which resulted in the woman being killed at a doubles outlet in Cunupia on Saturday.

The prison officer, who sustained stab injuries while trying to fend off attackers, remained at hospital last night under police guard.

On Saturday morning, Susan Medrano-St Louis, 65, of Clarke Street Ext, Railway Road, Enterprise, was pronounced dead at 8.40 a.m. at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope after she was fatally shot.
