What began as a routine stop for doubles yesterday morning ended in tragedy for a Cunupia family, as a 65-year-old mother was shot dead during a fight over a parking spot.

The incident unfolded around 8.25 a.m. near the Sauce doubles outlet at the corner of the Southern Main Road and Robert Trace.

When police officers arrived, they found Susan Madrano-St Louis lying on the pavement in a pool of blood as members of the public tried to help.
