Police are investigating the death of a full-term baby after a woman who said she was unaware she was pregnant gave birth in a hotel bathroom on Saturday.

Around 1 p.m., the woman, of Oak Drive, Arouca, was at a hotel at the Centre of Excellence in Macoya with a friend when she experienced abdominal pain and went to the bathroom.

She said she felt a flushing sensation from her body and was unaware it was a baby until hotel security personnel alerted her.
