A pre-action protocol letter has been issued to the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) following the death of a one-week-old baby girl whose mother described her delivery as “pure torture”.
The letter, dated Thursday August 28, 2025, was issued to the chief executive officer at the NCRHA, Davlin Thomas, by attorney Ashley Badal, who is acting on behalf of the Sangre Grande woman.
It claimed the tragedy arose as a result of the negligence with a breach of duty of care to the mother and child, and breach of statutory duty of the NCRHA and those aligned to it.
