Nothing short of a nightmare is how a Tobago mother is describing her experience after giving birth to her baby son alone in the labour room of the Maternity ward of the Scarborough General Hospital last Friday night.

The mother, who wished not to be identified, told the Express she was taunted, laughed at and shouted at by medical staff at the hospital during the ordeal.

The father of the child said they intend to take legal action in the matter. “Full investigation, I don’t think that nurse should be in the ward from today, until the investigation done and personnel should be suspended during the investigation without pay, I also intend to take legal action in the matter,” he said.
