OPPOSITION Leader Pennelope Beckles says the Government has failed to present any evidence to support its claim that the former People’s National Movement (PNM) administration had “crashed” the economy.
Beckles made her first address as Opposition Leader during Wednesday’s debate on the motion to adopt the report of the Standing Finance Committee in Parliament.
She criticised Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo’s assertion that the economy had crashed, describing it as “insensitive” and “calculated to cause mischief,” adding that no evidence was presented to substantiate the claim.
