A 63-year-old taxi driver was threatened at gunpoint and forced out of his vehicle near St. Theresa’s R.C. Church in Morvant early Monday morning, police reported.
The victim said he picked up a male passenger around 4:50 a.m. along Eastern Main Road, San Juan, who requested a trip to Upper 6th Avenue, Malick, Barataria. The suspect, described as a slim-built man of African descent, about 5’9” with a goatee, suddenly threatened Craig with a firearm, saying, “Ah will shoot yuh.”
The suspect ordered Craig to stop near St. Theresa’s Church, pushed him out of the Nissan Almera valued at $50,000 and drove off.
