A 36-year-old woman from Aranguez was assaulted during a carjacking in Port of Spain on Sunday.
The woman was sitting in her silver Hyundai Elantra (registration PDY 6490) parked near Independence Square, opposite the Royal Bank, when a red Toyota Aqua pulled up in front of her vehicle.
A man reportedly exited the passenger side and attempted to steal her jewelry, including a Cuban link gold chain with a jade pendant valued at $5,000, a gold pressed chain with a Hello Kitty pendant valued at $5,000, and a thin gold chain valued at $2,200.
