A Chaguanas family was bound and assaulted during a home invasion on Thursday morning, with criminals escaping with cash, jewellery, a mobile phone, and a vehicle that was later found overturned in Freeport.
Police reported that the incident occurred around 2 a.m. at a residence along Joyce Road, where four family members had secured the house before going to bed.
Investigators said five men dressed in dark clothing gained entry by cutting the burglar-proofing on a front window on the western side of the house. Two of the suspects were armed with a firearm, while the remaining three carried a cutlass and a pig foot.
