A VIOLENT home invasion in Barataria on Thursday ended in the fatal shooting of a suspect by police.

The deceased has yet to be positively identified, only known by the alias of ‘Antonio’ of Seventh Avenue, Malick.

Police reported that around 3.10 a.m., two businessmen, aged 54 and 32, were returning to their residence when they were confronted by about seven armed men. The intruders accosted them at an iron door on the southern side of the property, forced them inside and demanded cash and valuables.
