Police in Chaguanas are investigating a violent home invasion in which a family of three was tied up and robbed.
Around 9 p.m. on Thursday, a maxi taxi driver was about to exit his front door when three masked men, one armed with a firearm, confronted him and forced him back inside. The suspects tied his hands and feet and ransacked the house while his wife and 15-year-old child were present.
The victims were robbed of cell phones, laptops, cash, and jewelry, including two Samsung A22 phones valued at $2,000 each, two laptops (HP and Bitcool) valued at $3,000 each, and an undisclosed amounts of cash and jewelry.
