Garyl Simmons, 18, began his first day of a one-month internship at the Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence yesterday.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar offered Simmons the internship during an emotional meeting at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s, last Thursday.
The Express reported on July 14 that Simmons had wanted to meet the Prime Minister to personally thank her for the Children’s Life Fund, which he benefited from after undergoing life-saving heart surgery at the age of four at the Miami Children’s Hospital.
