A Ca­roni man who with­drew $17,500 cash from the bank and placed it in his car, was robbed af­ter he stopped to pur­chase items at the side of the road on the way home.

The 49-year-old sales rep­re­sen­ta­tive, of Kel­ly Vil­lage, Ca­roni, con­duct­ed the trans­ac­tion at a bank in Grand Bazaar, Val­sayn, around noon on Thurs­day.

On the way home, the vic­tim stopped at the Ca­roni round­about, near the fish ven­dors, to pur­chase some­thing and left the car un­locked.
