A thief used the Belmont dry river as his escape route after robbing a 53-year-old woman of her belongings on Monday evening.
Police said around 6:12 p.m., the woman was walking along Jerningham Avenue, near the Belmont Community Centre, when a man approached her and snatched her light green bag.
The bag contained her Shield Security uniform, $1,500 in cash, glasses valued at $2,600, a Samsung cell phone worth $2,000, and other personal items.
