Woman robbed of $30,000 outside East Gates Mall

Two people were robbed of a combined $37,000 in cash in separate incidents in Trincity and Port of Spain on Friday.

In the first incident, a 24-year-old woman was walking into East Gates Mall from the Republic Bank Trincity branch shortly after noon when she was approached by two men.

Police said the men announced a robbery and, after the woman became fearful, beat her about the body before taking her black Coach handbag.
