A Morvant resident was robbed of more than $21,000 in cash during a daring daylight attack near Nelson Street on Tuesday morning.
Around 10:45 a.m., the victim was seated in the back seat of a vehicle parked along the southern side of Independence Square North when he was confronted by two men armed with firearms.
Police said one of the suspects entered the front passenger seat and demanded money. The victim raised an alarm, prompting the driver, who was outside the vehicle, to attempt to intervene. The second suspect then brandished a firearm, forcing the driver to retreat.
