Off-duty cop chopped during robbery in Sangre Grande

An off-duty police officer was chopped to the face and head during an attempted robbery in Sangre Grande on December 12.
The suspect was arrested shortly after in blood-stained clothing and remains in custody.
The officer was discharged from hospital on December 13, police said.
