A 45-year-old woman was raped and robbed while on her way to work on Monday.

According to a police report, the victim arrived at the Sangre Grande Police Station and reported that around 5 a.m. she was walking along George Street, Sangre Grande heading to work. Upon reaching the vicinity of Homes Restaurant, she saw a man, approximately 5' 5" tall, dressed in a white jersey, white/grey three-quarter pants, and dark coloured hat, who approached her and began assaulting her.

The suspect then dragged her against her will approximately 20 feet onto Oxford Street, Sangre Grande in a bushy area under a mango tree, and began assaulting her further. He then raped her.
