Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro has disclosed that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has directed investigators to proceed with criminal charges against several police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Joshua Samaroo and the wounding of his common-law wife, Kaia Sealy.
Speaking during a press conference at Police Headquarters in Port of Spain, Guevarro said the instructions came from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard following a review of the investigation file.
“The DPP says investigators have been directed to proceed with a series of criminal charges arising out of the situation on that day,” Guevarro said.
