Police officers involved in the shooting death of Joshua Samaroo may soon face charges.
Mr. Samaroo was shot on January 20th, 2026, at the corner of College Road and Dookiesingh Street in St. Augustine. Security camera footage of the incident showed him with his hands up, surrendering to police before he was shot.
Details regarding the police investigation were shared by Commissioner of Police, Allister Guevarro, at a Trinidad and Tobago Police Service briefing on Thursday.
