Brake marks stretch 85 feet in fatal highway crash

A 41-year-old man was killed on Monday afternoon when he was struck by a van while attempting to cross the Uriah Butler Highway in the vicinity of Bick’s Hardware.
Dead is Hemant Sieunarine, of First Avenue, Bamboo Settlement No. 3.
According to police reports, around 2.19 p.m. a Toyota Hiace van owned by Trinijam Foods and driven by a Jamaican national was proceeding north along the Uriah Butler Highway when the accident occurred.
