A 65-YEAR-OLD man who died after being struck by a vehicle while sweeping the Uriah Butler Highway on Saturday afternoon has been identified as Satyanand Harrinanan of Harrinanan Drive, Arima.
According to police, around 1.45 p.m. a black Isuzu D-Max, driven by a Longdenville man, was proceeding north along the Uriah Butler Highway near Chan Ramlal Road when the incident occurred.
The driver reported that the victim was seen sweeping the middle lane of the highway with a broom.
