A 40-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle along the Uriah Butler Highway (UBH), Chaguanas, on Christmas night.

The deceased has been identified as Sumraj Bhagwandeen, of LP 18 Jerningham Junction Road, Charlieville.

Police said that around 7.30 pm, a female driver was proceeding south along the UBH in the right lane, near Heartland Plaza, when a “shadow-like figure” suddenly ran across the highway in front of her vehicle.
