A 65-year-old man was killed af­ter he ran in­to the path of a van on the Uri­ah But­ler High­way on Sat­ur­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said Satyanand Har­ri­nanan, of Har­ri­nanan Dri­ve, Ari­ma, had been seen sweep­ing the mid­dle lane of the high­way near Chan Ram­lal Road short­ly be­fore the in­ci­dent, which hap­pened around 1.45 pm.

Ac­cord­ing to in­ves­ti­ga­tors, the dri­ver of a north­bound Isuzu DMax was in the right lane when Har­ri­nanan sud­den­ly ran across the road­way and in­to the ve­hi­cle’s path. He was struck.
