ForĀmer CenĀtral Bank govĀerĀnor Jwala RamĀbarĀran has been orĀdered to pay over $100,000 in comĀpenĀsaĀtion to forĀmer FiĀnance MinĀisĀter Colm ImĀbert for defamaĀtion.
DeĀlivĀerĀing a judgĀment via email on MonĀday, High Court Judge Kevin RamĀchaĀran upĀheld ImĀbertās claim and orĀdered the comĀpenĀsaĀtion.
Guardian MeĀdia unĀderĀstands that ImĀbert may have to wait a while beĀfore he poĀtenĀtialĀly reĀceives the damĀages orĀdered, as RamĀbarĀran is exĀpectĀed to apĀpeal the outĀcome.
