Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander says residents of Belmont wanted the zones of special operations (ZOSO) plan implemented in the area.
Responding to a question in the House of Representatives yesterday from Port of Spain North/St Ann’s West MP Stuart Young on the safety of citizens and the current state of emergency—in light of the shooting incident in Belmont on Thursday, which resulted in the deaths of a two-year-old, his father, and another man—Alexander said, “The death of any person is a concern to this Government.
“When these things happen, I traverse the area and have conversations with persons, and at this time, they are highly annoyed because they want what we wanted to give to them, which is (a zone of special operations).”
