Three armed men carried out a violent home invasion in Phoenix Park, California, Couva, early Sunday morning, leaving residents beaten, tied up, and traumatised.
According to police reports, around 9 p.m. on Saturday, the occupants secured their home by locking all doors and windows. At 1 a.m. on Sunday, they were awoken by loud voices. They soon saw three men inside their home, each armed with a firearm and demanding money.
The intruders tied the residents’ hands and assaulted one of them, delivering several blows to his head and back. The suspects ransacked the house, taking multiple valuables, including, cash totaling TT$1,800 and US$500 from one resident, cash totaling US$7,000 from under a mattress belonging to the other resident, two Samsung A25 cellphones, one belonging to each resident, a quantity of jewellery stored in a bedroom wooden box, and identification documents from one of the residents.
