A violent early-morning home invasion in Morvant left six residents injured by eight criminals.
Around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, the group of eight masked intruders broke into a two-storey residence where the occupants were asleep. The family, which includes two business owners, a spa operator, and other professionals, was blindfolded, bound with tie straps, and forced to lie face down in the living room while being beaten with blunt objects. Several victims sustained visible injuries, including facial wounds.
The intruders looted numerous electronics, including multiple smartphones, tablets, and approximately $10,000 in cash. They also stole two vehicles from the property: a black Toyota Corolla and a white Suzuki Grand Vitara, valued at $70,000 and $170,000. Both vehicles were later recovered in Laventille.
