Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC on Wednesday evening inspected humanitarian aid heading to Venezuela aboard the Galleons Passage.
The vessel departed at noon on Thursday carrying 331 pallets of relief supplies, including water, food items, canned goods, juice, soft drinks, mattresses, hygiene products, cleaning supplies and medical supplies to assist victims of the twin earthquakes that devastated the country in June.
During her visit to the vessel ahead of its departure, the Prime Minister viewed the cargo and thanked the crew and agencies involved in the humanitarian operation.
