OPPOSITION Leader Pennelope Beckles has called on Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to leave her alone regarding her decision on embattled Senator Janelle John-Bates.

On May 1, John-Bates told the Senate that she had submitted her resignation to Beckles following allegations of improper conduct related to her role on the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC).

John-Bates assisted former health minister Terrence Deyalsingh in reviewing and editing his witness statement ahead of his appearance before the PAAC.
