Elderly man beaten, taken hostage in ATM robbery attempt

“THIS guy could have killed me.”
Those were the words of 81-year-old Stephen Lezama yesterday, a day after he was reportedly beaten, robbed and abducted by a man who later attempted to force him to withdraw money from an ATM.
Lezama was rescued on Wednesday after he spotted a marked police vehicle at a gas station along Cyrus Road, Barataria, where his attacker had taken him.
