An 80-year-old man is recovering after he was violently assaulted by two masked men during a terrifying home invasion along Naparima Mayaro Road, Libertville, on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. while the elderly man was in the washroom of his home, where he lives alone. Police said two men, one armed with a black revolver, confronted the senior and announced a robbery, demanding cash and gold.
In an attempt to force the victim to reveal the location of a firearm safe, the intruders reportedly beat him about the face and then sprayed him with an aerosol can, igniting it with a lighter to create a flame.
