A four-vehicle collision on Tuesday night in South Oropouche left five people injured, including four drivers and a passenger.
The incident occurred just before 7 pm along the highway near the Oropouche Flyover. According to police reports, the crash began when a police officer parked his car on the side of the road near the Oropouche turn-off to assist his relative, whose Nissan B15 had stalled due to a mechanical failure. The officer’s physically challenged relative remained in the car while help was provided.
Shortly after, a motorist driving a silver Mitsubishi L200 pulled over to offer assistance. Once the repairs were completed, both drivers were returning to their vehicles when a Kia K2700 struck the rear of the Mitsubishi L200. The impact caused the Kia to lose control, flip onto its right side, and block both lanes of the highway.
