Five injured as car plunges off road in Maracas

FIVE people were injured when a car plunged approximately 40 feet off the roadway along the North Coast Road near Maracas Bay on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the driver, a 23-year-old man from Marabella, and four passengers—two women aged 26 and 21, a 19-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man—were taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital following the crash.
According to investigators, around 3.45 p.m., the driver was travelling north towards Maracas Bay in a Mitsubishi Lancer when he attempted to stop near Bay View to purchase cotton candy.
