One man is dead and two oth­ers in­jured af­ter a three-ve­hi­cle col­li­sion in Ari­ma on Sat­ur­day evening.

Po­lice said around 6.20 p.m., a grey Hon­da Vezel head­ing east along the East­ern Main Road near the Im­mi­gra­tion De­ten­tion Cen­tre at­tempt­ed to over­take a line of ve­hi­cles by fil­ter­ing on­to the west­bound lane. The Vezel col­lid­ed head-on with a white Hon­da Civic dri­ven by 39-year-old Mick­el Nel­son of San­gre Grande.

Nel­son was tak­en to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal by passers-by but was de­clared dead around 8 p.m.
