A bag containing a gun and 34 rounds of ammunition was stolen from the front seat of a car, 20 minutes after the owner secured and left the vehicle at Lange Park.

The 52-year-old of Chaguanas, parked and secured his sport utility vehicle (SUV) at a jobsite along Lange Park, Chaguanas around 1.20 p.m. on Friday and walked away. Twenty minutes later, he returned to find the driver side window broken and the bag which was on the passenger seat, missing. It contained a pistol, two magazines with 34 rounds of 9mm ammunition valued $16,000 and $25,000 cash he had earlier withdrawn from the bank.

Constable Mendoza is continuing investigations.
