The North West Regional Health Authority has announced what it describes as a milestone in neonatal care, following the discharge of the smallest triplets ever delivered and treated in Trinidad and Tobago.
In a media release today, the Authority said the infants were delivered at 27 weeks and received care at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Port of Spain General Hospital.
The NWRHA said the successful discharge reflects the strength of the three infants and their family, after what it described as a long and fragile journey in intensive care.
