AT just 27 weeks old and weighing less than many full-term newborns, three tiny boys fought for their lives in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Today, those same boys, Zayaan, Zain and Zaidal, are home with their parents after becoming the smallest triplets ever delivered and successfully treated in Trinidad and Tobago.
In April, the North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) announced the successful discharge of the premature triplets, describing the case as a major medical milestone for the country.
