Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says it is a heartbreaking tragedy whenever a child is killed, but noted yesterday that crime in Trinidad and Tobago would have been worse in the absence of a state of emergency (SoE).
Persad-Bissessar was questioned yesterday at Parliament on the issue of crime, following a ceremony in the Rotunda of the Red House, Port of Spain, where some of the 2,000 laptops gifted by India were handed over to students from seven school districts and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were exchanged.
