(Kaieteur News) ā A labourer who failed to show up in court will be spending the next three years behind bars after he was sentenced to jail in absentia for trafficking 238 grams of cannabis.
Michael Dennis, 39 was charged by police and released on court bail but reportedly was a no-show in court. As result he was sentenced in absentia to three years imprisonment and fined $30,000 on 24th February, 2021. A conviction warrant was issued and that warrant was executed on Wednesday in Region Six. He is now in jail at the Lusignan Prison.
