A 58-year-old labourer from the Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), was on Friday remanded to prison after appearing before the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on a charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Clive Benn of Charity Squatting Area, Essequibo Coast, was charged with possession of 71.1 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10.
Benn appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir via Zoom, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty to the offence.
