The country's alert status has been downgraded to GREEN as the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has discontinued its earlier Adverse Weather Alert-Yellow Level.
According to the most recent advisory from the Met Service, there is “a medium chance (40%) of a few heavy showers or thunderstorm” occurring today over Tobago and northern Trinidad, but “the potential for impactful weather has decreased substantially over the last few hours.”
Earlier today, during the peak period of the Yellow Level Alert, several parts of the country experienced heavy rains and some flooding, with water runoff taking place fairly quickly.
