The Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice has is­sued an Ad­verse Weath­er Alert (Yel­low Lev­el) for Trinidad, warn­ing of iso­lat­ed heavy show­ers and thun­der­storms like­ly through­out the day.

The alert, ac­ti­vat­ed at 10:00 am, is sched­uled to re­main in place un­til 6:00 pm to­day. It was prompt­ed by at­mos­pher­ic con­di­tions favour­ing the de­vel­op­ment of in­tense rain­fall, par­tic­u­lar­ly over hilly ar­eas.

Ac­cord­ing to the Met Ser­vice, these weath­er sys­tems may bring gusty winds and heavy down­pours. It says the as­so­ci­at­ed risks in­clude street and flash flood­ing, as well as land­slides and land­slips, es­pe­cial­ly along hill­sides.
