Residents of Trinidad and Tobago have been urged to remain vigilant as Adverse Weather Alert #3 - Yellow Level remains in effect until 10:00 pm on Monday. The alert covers both islands and surrounding waters.
The Meteorological Service reports that showers and isolated thunderstorms have been affecting the country over the last several hours, with heavy downpours and gusty winds reported in some areas. Tobago has experienced particularly frequent activity.
While the main axis of a strong tropical wave has moved past Trinidad and Tobago, trailing moisture and unstable atmospheric conditions continue to maintain a high chance of intermittent rainfall. These conditions are expected to persist through Monday, with periods of settled weather possible but conditions remaining conducive to impactful weather events.
